flow peak performance academy

Hi Ghulam,

Apologies for the delay... I've had a rough couple of weeks but I seem to be over the worst of it now.

I've got so much information to share with you, it's a challenge to know where to begin.  I mentioned Steven Kotler to you when we met and his book, 'The Rise of Superman'.  It is is a great place to start and you'll find several Youtube videos of him. He's written another book with Jamie Wheal called, 'Stealing Fire' which will be good to look up at some point.  There are some good YouTube videos of Jamie Wheal too.

This first video here is a 5 min video by Fred Travis and he explains quite succinctly about the importance of quietening the prefrontal cortex or CEO as he calls it.  A substantial part of my work is focused on doing just that.

Much of the most recent research into the flow peak performance state clearly demonstrates that a key feature is the shutting off of this part of the brain.  It's called transient hypofrontality.

I think this a good introduction to 'flow'

And here is one by Jamie Wheal.  There's some crossover but I don't think it does any harm to hear it again...
Focusband

This is an extremely useful piece of kit that I use to validate the work I do with clients.  It's an in-motion neurofeedback device which lets you know what's going on in the brain whilst you are performing the task.  I'll bring it over next time we meet but as a taster here is the website Focusband.

And here is a YouTube video of Focusband in action in cricket.  Focusband is not being used much in cricket yet.  I'm in contact with the CEO of Focusband who is Australian.  They have had some success with Cricket Australia and Greg Chappell is a strong supporter of it but politics seems to be halting it's wider use.

i'd love to explore developing programmes with you which incorporate it's use.

Anyway, that's probably enough for now.  Lets arrange to meet again soon.

Cheers
